Heute durfte ich erneut mit meinem geschätzten Kollegen Dr. Stavrakis zusammenarbeiten – dieses Mal bei einer umfassenden Kombi-OP aus Gesichts- und Körperstraffung. Wenn man mich fragt, welcher Eingriff mich am meisten geprägt hat, muss ich nicht lange überlegen. Es war der Tag, an dem ich die Ehre hatte, das Gesicht eines Kindes zu rekonstruieren.
Solche Operationen berühren auf eine ganz besondere Weise. Jeder Handgriff, jede Naht trägt in solchen Momenten ein enormes Gewicht. Denn man arbeitet nicht nur mit Gewebe, sondern mit einem Gesicht, das eine Geschichte, eine Zukunft und eine Familie hat, die hofft und bangt.
Während des Eingriffs spürt man sehr deutlich, dass Medizin weit über Technik hinausgeht. Sie wird zu Empathie in Handlung, zu Präzision im Dienst von Menschlichkeit.
Ich erinnere mich noch genau an das Gefühl, als die Operation abgeschlossen war. Kein Moment des Triumphs – sondern der Dankbarkeit. Dankbarkeit dafür, Teil eines Teams zu sein, das mit Herz, Geduld und Demut arbeitet.
Es sind genau diese Erfahrungen, die mich immer wieder daran erinnern, warum ich diesen Beruf liebe. Chirurgie ist nicht nur eine Kunst der Form – sie ist auch eine Kunst des Mitgefühls. Und manchmal sind es gerade die schwierigsten Eingriffe, die einem zeigen, wie viel Herz in Medizin wirklich steckt.
