Labia augmentation
The pubic mound (mons pubis) is located between the lower abdomen and the female genital area and is much more in focus than it used to be due to the intimate shaving that is often common today. Many women would like their mons pubis to be flat and at most show a slight bulge that neither interferes with intimate contact nor stands out unflatteringly when wearing tight clothing such as bikinis, pants or skirts.
In reality, however, this ideal image is the exception rather than the rule, as genetic predisposition, the menopause, weight fluctuations or even pregnancy can lead to increased fat deposits in the mons veneris area. The problem is that the fat here can be very stubborn and often cannot be reduced through exercise or a change in diet.
The mons veneris correction in Frankfurt am Main offers a solution. In this low-risk plastic surgery procedure, specialist Dr. Nichlos removes the excess fat cells using liposuction and tightens the area if necessary to give it an aesthetic appearance again. Make an appointment now at our practice and let us advise you in a discreet atmosphere on the possibilities of a mons pubis correction!
A mons pubis correction (mons veneris) or, more precisely, reduction is a minor intimate surgery procedure to reduce and/or tighten the mons veneris. The underlying fatty tissue and/or a pronounced skin mantle is surgically removed. The aim of the treatment is to change the appearance of the mons pubis so that it blends in harmoniously with the patient’s genital area and body silhouette.
There are many different reasons why women want to have their mons veneris corrected. They do not like the external appearance of their intimate zone because the mons pubis is very pronounced or protruding, perhaps even visible under tight clothing.
The effect can be exacerbated by age-related tissue sagging in the intimate area or – this is not uncommon – after pregnancy or weight loss. What begins as discomfort and dissatisfaction with the bikini line can turn into a feeling of shame and a strong psychological burden that severely affects the patient’s well-being and self-esteem and can have a negative impact on their social and sex life.
This makes it all the more important to seek advice on suitable treatment procedures from a plastic and aesthetic surgeon and intimate surgery specialist such as Dr. Nichlos.
Personal care and advice is very important, especially when it comes to a sensitive topic such as a mons veneris correction. Dr. Nichlos will take time for you in an open and confidential consultation to discuss your wishes and goals and advise you on which intimate surgery procedure is suitable to achieve the desired result. He will inform you about the opportunities and risks of the treatment, what changes can be achieved and what you should pay attention to before and after the procedure.
For optimal preparation, please inform us of any pre-existing conditions and medication that you take regularly.
You will come to the Berger Klinik in Frankfurt for the operation. Here, Dr. Nichlos uses state-of-the-art operating theatres to guarantee optimum treatment quality. The procedure itself is performed on an outpatient basis and either under local anesthesia, twilight sleep (analog sedation) or general anesthesia and usually takes no longer than 1 hour.
First, a so-called tumescent solution is injected into the mons pubis. This loosens the fat cells in the tissue so that they can be released more easily. The loosened fat cells are then suctioned out via a fine cannula, which is inserted under the skin through a small incision. In this way, the shape of the mons pubis can be modeled according to individual wishes.
If there is significant excess skin after liposuction, an additional tightening of the pubic area is possible as part of the operation. The excess skin is removed and finely sutured at the edges. If necessary, further tightening operations or other procedures (e.g. correction of the labia) can be performed afterwards.
Allow yourself a few days of rest and recovery after the procedure, during which you should sit as little as possible. You should not shower on the first day, then use a pH-neutral, disinfectant soap for personal hygiene. You should wear a compression garment to stabilize the new shape of the mons veneris and support the healing process for the first 2-3 weeks.
Please avoid sport and other physical exertion during this time, especially lifting or carrying heavy objects. You should refrain from sexual intercourse until the swelling on the mons pubis and the surrounding area caused by the operation has completely subsided and healing is complete.
Pubic mound reduction is considered a low-risk procedure in plastic surgery – provided that the liposuction is performed professionally by an experienced surgeon such as Dr. Nichlos under the highest standards of hygiene. However, slight bleeding or bruising may occur after mons pubis reduction, but this will subside after a short time, as will any temporary sensory disturbances.
In our experience, mild pain in the genital area can be treated very well with commercially available painkillers until healing has progressed further.
The mons pubis correction (mons veneris reduction) is a surgical procedure to remove excess fat or skin in the area of the mons veneris. The aim is to achieve a flatter, firmer contour of the intimate region.
Common causes are fat deposits due to obesity, hormonal changes or genetic predisposition. Age-related loss of elasticity can also lead to enlargement and sagging of the mons pubis.
Correction is usually achieved by targeted liposuction. In the case of pronounced excess skin, skin tightening may also be necessary. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia or twilight sleep.
The duration depends on the extent of the correction. Allow about 1 to 3 hours – especially if combined procedures are performed.
The incisions are placed very inconspicuously in the natural skin fold so that scars are usually barely visible.
Yes, the removed fat does not return. Over the years, however, skin sagging can occur due to age – but a new correction is not usually necessary.
Sexual intercourse is usually possible again after about 4 weeks – as soon as the healing process is complete and there is no more discomfort.
You can start with light sport after about two weeks. You should avoid intensive sporting activity and pressure or friction in the genital area for at least four to six weeks.
Yes, wearing special compression garments supports the healing process and ensures an even result. Dr. Nichlos will advise you on this in detail.
As with any surgical procedure, swelling, bruising or wound healing problems can occur. However, complications are very rare in Dr. Nichlos’ practice.
Yes, the correction can be combined with a labia reduction, a vaginal tightening or a tummy tuck, for example – for a harmonious overall result.
The costs start from 2,000 euros plus anesthesia, hospital stay and compression garments. You will receive a detailed list during your personal consultation.
